RSUH checks a student who said that the ChatGPT neural network wrote a diploma for him in 24 hours
Alexander is a student of the Department of Management, who recently defended his work “Theoretical Aspects of Management in a Modern Organization”.
After that, the guy said that the diploma was written for him by the popular OpenAI neural network, which, using artificial intelligence, can have meaningful conversations with the user and fulfill his requests. According to Alexander, “a diploma is an overrated prick that is not worth so much effort,” which is why he went on an experiment. With the help of commands like “write a plan for a diploma on a topic”, “write a text about”, “write a conclusion for 3 chapters”, the student managed to assemble the first version of the diploma in 11 hours. After the supervisor’s corrections, he once again finalized the work using ChatGPT, corrected the Russian language and the consistency of the text (the neural network only works in English, so the text was translated through an online translator) and handed in the work.
Alexander stated that he achieved 82% of the originality of the work, and at the defense he was able to get a satisfactory rating (according to him, it was lowered for laughter in the audience). “Writing a thesis with ChatGPT is cool. You definitely need to edit yourself, but most of the machine gives everything itself, ”said the student. He described his experience in a Twitter thread that went viral. At the Russian State Humanitarian University “Caution, the news”, they said that they are familiar with the situation, they are currently studying it and plan to announce a decision in the near future.
