Prigozhin commented on the sanctions against his media group
The founder of the private military company (PMC) Wagner, Yevgeny Prigozhin, sarcastically commented on the inclusion of his Patriot media group on the EU sanctions list, calling it a great tragedy.
This was reported by the press service of the businessman in the Telegram channel.
“This is a big tragedy for us. First, we will have to stop direct commercial relations with major European publications. In any case, we will not be able to refuse to publish the materials we need in them, but we will do it with double care through our counterparties from The Washington Post and the New York Times and, most likely, we will have to bear high costs, because the usual commission when interacting with up to 20 percent. Of course, this will complicate interference in the work of the European Commission,” Prigozhin said.
The businessman added that he would be able to influence the 2024 US presidential election, since so far American sanctions do not apply to his media group, so the elections will be held normally. “If this happens, then we, of course, we will involve lawyers and insist on lifting restrictions with The Wall Street Journal, since we have signed an agreement with them that is valid until mid-2025,” Prigogine concluded.
Earlier, the EU, as part of the tenth package of sanctions, introduced a separate block of restrictions on the private military company (PMC) Wagner, which included 11 individuals and seven organizations. The media group Patriot, which includes RIA FAN, was also included in the sanctions list.
