Prigozhin allowed the departure of Wagner PMC to Africa
The founder of the private military company (PMC) Wagner, Yevgeny Prigozhin, admitted that the fighters of the group could go to Africa when their services in the framework of a special military operation (SVO) in Ukraine are not needed.
This was reported in the Telegram channel of the press service of the businessman.
Answering the question why the role of PMCs in the capture of settlements is not indicated in some reports, Prigozhin said that PMC Wagner does not pay attention to how their activities are covered, since “it is not statements that are important, but deeds that we do”. “We were given the right to defend our Motherland, to save it at a critical moment, and we use it. Such a right and trust of the people is worth a lot,” he stressed.
Prigozhin added that when the services of PMC fighters are no longer needed, the company will curtail its activities in Ukraine. “When we are no longer needed, we will pack up and go back to Africa,” the press service quoted the founder of the PMC as saying.
In December 2022, US Senators introduced a bill requiring the State Department to designate the Wagner PMC as a foreign terrorist organization. In turn, the founder of PMC Evgeny Prigozhin said that she does not fall under any of the criteria for such a decision. At the same time, he pointed out that the activities of the United States themselves are completely suitable for them.
