Old source codes of Yandex projects appeared on the network

The network is discussing the data that one of the employees posted a 44.7 GB archive, which was called “Yandex source code”. The IT company explained that no hacking took place, and old code fragments from the internal repository, which is needed for product development, got into the public domain. At the same time, the merged version is significantly different from the one that is used now.

The company also said that developers need repositories to work with code, they are not used to store users’ personal data, so the incident will not affect customers. The company launched an internal investigation into the incident.
