Juventus have lost 15 points for financial fraud
Football club “Juventus” is deprived of 15 points in the table of Serie A because of the case of financial fraud.
It is reported by RBC with reference to Sky Sports.
The Court of the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) granted the request of the prosecutor, who demanded to punish the club in the case of fictitious capital gains.
The prosecutor asked to remove nine points from Juventus. Other clubs were involved in the case, but the court acquitted them.
Due to points deductions, the club is now in 10th place in Serie A with 22 points. Juventus may appeal this decision.
Juventus were accused of inflating the transfer fee of players, as well as understating the cost of employees and hiding the true size of the salaries of players.
This is not the first time the club has been involved in a financial scandal. In 2006, the club was expelled from Serie A.
Then it was proved that Juventus bribed referees – as a result, club president Luciano Moggi was banned from football for life, and Juve lost two league titles.
