According to the publication, Andrey Kosogov, a longtime business partner of billionaires, has already agreed to buy the bank for 178 billion rubles. The sale should be completed this spring and approved by regulators, including the Central Bank of Russia.
Thus, Friedman and Aven, who live in London, will cease to be shareholders of Alfa-Bank, this is 45% of the shares. According to FT sources familiar with the terms of the deal, this is how they want to lift the sanctions. Moreover, they have not yet received any guarantees that this will help them. “They want to do everything possible so that the sanctions are lifted,” says the source of the publication. The billionaires refused to comment on the FT, Kosogov confirmed the agreement on the deal.
