Director of the Faberge Museum helped Vekselberg maintain real estate in the United States

Billionaire Viktor Vekselberg, even before being included in the sanctions lists in 2018, bought real estate in the States through front companies. He was assisted in this by Vladimir Voronchenko, the director of the Vekselberg-owned Faberge Museum, who has a permanent residence permit in the United States.

So Vekselberg got two apartments in Florida, an apartment in New York and an estate in Southampton with a total value of about $75 million.

The US Department of Justice accuses Voronchenko of taking part in a scheme for $4 million that allowed him to service these four properties – for this purpose, Voronchenko hired a lawyer in New York, to whose account Vekselberg’s shell companies transferred $18.5 million. Also, according to the prosecution, after the introduction of sanctions against Vekselberg, Voronchenko tried to sell two of the four objects.
