Vologda officials advised to refrain from vacation abroad
Governor of the Vologda Oblast Oleg Kuvshinnikov advised regional deputies and officials to refrain from vacationing abroad. He made the corresponding statement during the operational meeting and the meeting of the regional government, the broadcast of which is available in the official group of the head of the region on the social network.
Kuvshinnikov stressed that a resonant event took place last week – Denis Dolzhenko, deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Vologda Region, published a photo from a run from the Dubai Marina area. The governor noted that the provocative picture caused a wide resonance among the Russians.
“At such a difficult time for the country, I consider it unacceptable to spend holidays in luxury resorts and deliberately publicly post such provocative photos on social networks (…) Therefore, once again I strongly recommend everyone to refrain from traveling to foreign countries and devote all their working time to supporting those who needs it,” said Kuvshinnikov.
On January 6, Denis Dolzhenko published on VKontakte a photo from his run, which he spent in the Dubai Marina area. In a comment to the picture, the deputy wrote that he skis mediocrely, and does not consider running in the cold a comfortable activity. “I listened to the recommendations of weather forecasters, warmed up,” he wrote.
According to the deputy, he visited Dubai during his official vacation and took the child there on the recommendation of doctors.
Later, Secretary of the United Russia General Council Andrei Turchak said that Dolzhenko had been expelled from the party’s supporters. He also clarified that the United Russia faction in the Vologda Legislative Assembly was recommended to release the parliamentarian from the post of deputy chairman of the Standing Committee on Economic Policy and Property.
