Viktor Bout assessed the consequences of the West’s supply of tanks to Ukraine
Russian businessman Viktor Bout, who spent 14 years in an American prison for arms trafficking, in an interview assessed the consequences of the West supplying tanks to Ukraine.
In his opinion, the supply of tanks to Kyiv will not affect the outcome of the special military operation (SVO), but may add complexity.
“We have a contact line of almost a thousand kilometers. You can collect tanks and achieve local success. This is unlikely to affect the result of the special operation itself, but it will add difficulties,” Bout said, adding that the Russian military “will take the necessary measures.”
On December 8, Viktor Bout was exchanged for American basketball player Brittney Griner, convicted in Russia for drug smuggling. Previously, both convicts were pardoned.
