The UN Security Council will vote on a resolution on the Nord Stream investigation

Dmitry Polyansky, First Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN, commented on his Twitter page on new data on sabotage at Nord Stream.

According to him, the vote on the Russian draft resolution calling on the Secretary General of the international organization António Guterres to create a special commission to investigate the incident should take place before the end of March.

“Three rounds of expert consultations on the draft resolution have passed, the vote will definitely take place before the end of March,” he wrote.

The diplomat noted that new evidence that a pro-Ukrainian group may be involved in the undermining of gas pipelines proves the need to launch an international investigation into the incident.

Earlier, the newspaper Die Zeit reported that the German prosecutor’s office had identified a vessel associated with Ukraine, probably involved in undermining the Nord Stream. According to the publication, the company that chartered the ship in Poland belongs to Ukrainians, and traces of explosives were found on the ship itself during a search. The publication says that one of the Western intelligence services reported these facts in the fall of 2022.
