Japan’s sovereignty over the Kuril Islands is the political absurdity of yet another incompetent US diplomat. So the words of the American ambassador to Japan Rama Emanuel about Tokyo’s sovereignty over the southern part of the islands were answered by Alexei Chepa, First Deputy Head of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, Izvestia writes.
According to the deputy, when Roosevelt, Churchill and Stalin signed agreements on the results of World War II, they did not expect that ambassadors would appear who would refute the agreements of the victorious countries.
Earlier, US Ambassador to Japan Rahm Emanuel said that Washington recognizes Japan’s sovereignty over the southern part of the Kuril Islands, which in Tokyo is called the Northern Territories.
