The probability of electing Wagnerites to the State Duma is estimated
People with a criminal record cannot take a post in the State Duma. So the proposal to nominate to the State Duma participants in a special military operation (SVO) as part of the private military company Wagner was commented on by deputy Yevgeny Fedorov, whose words are quoted by the radio station.
“As far as prisoners are concerned, the law applies. Under this law, people with a criminal record are not allowed to enter government bodies. This law has not been repealed,” the parliamentarian said.
Earlier, General Andrey Gurulev, a member of the Defense Committee of the State Duma of Russia, said that the members of the SVO have sufficient competencies to be nominated for the role of deputies, as well as for further work within the framework of the position.
In addition, the deputy supported the nomination of those who participate in the special operation as part of the units of the Wagner PMC, including former prisoners. “Yes, they were prisoners under various articles, but they volunteered to defend their Motherland,” he explained.
