The permanent mission of Russia to the UN explained the causes of the global crisis
Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN Anna Evstigneeva said that the current global crisis arose because of the desire of some countries to maintain a unipolar world order.
Her words are reported by RIA Novosti.
According to the diplomat, a number of states are doing their best to prevent the formation of a new fair system of international relations. She stressed that this is the key reason for the deep crisis in the world. Evstigneeva noted that the leaders of some countries are trying to impose “the right of the strong” and are pursuing their own interests, seeking to replace the universal norms of international law with a “rules-based world order.”
The diplomat said that what is happening has a significant impact on the UN system. “It is undergoing a serious test of sustainability and the effectiveness of its mandate, a key element of which is conflict prevention. Unfortunately, it became obvious that against the backdrop of the challenges of the critical period, the UN cannot cope with this task, ”concluded Evstigneeva.
Earlier, the head of the Constitutional Committee of the Federation Council Andrei Klishas accused the United States of imposing the idea of American exceptionalism on the world. He stated that Washington is consistently hindering the normal development of other states, in particular, purposefully slowing down the pre-colonization processes.
