The names of the military men who participated in Putin’s New Year’s address became known
The names of the servicemen who participated in the New Year’s address of Russian President Vladimir Putin have become known. They received the awards on December 31st.
According to Izvestia, the military have already returned or are preparing to return to the zone of a special military operation (SVO).
Foreman Irina Tsarukaeva noted that for her the meeting and the awarding personally from the hands of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief became a real fairy tale.
The captain of the medical service, Anna Sidorenko, who was standing on Putin’s right hand, described how her detachment carried 17 wounded out of the shelling. She added that she will forever remember December 31, 2022, when the president presented her with an award, although she does not fully understand what happened.
Major Yevgeny Volkov, who stood behind the head of state’s left shoulder during the New Year’s address, said that the president unexpectedly invited him, like other servicemen, to participate in such an event.
Senior Lieutenant Alexander Gvozderov noted that he was surprised by Putin’s proposal. The youngest participant of the meeting, the tank driver of a separate tank battalion of the air assault division, Timofey Matveev, added that everyone was very worried when the Russian leader came out, the soldier felt proud of the audience.
Major Shamil Yusupov said that he received a watch as a gift from the President, according to which he counts the time until discharge from the hospital and is preparing to leave for the special operation zone in the very near future. Deputy commander of the jet division Alexander Savvon and senior lieutenant Yuri Schneider, who took part in Putin’s New Year’s address, have already returned to combat positions.
In his New Year’s greetings to the Russians, Putin addressed the background of the Russian military. The President’s congratulations were recorded at the headquarters of the Southern Military District. During the visit to the headquarters, the head of state talked with the commander, presented banners to the army corps, including Luhansk and Donetsk, and also presented awards to servicemen.
