On June 15, 2022, it will be exactly 25 years since Larisa Nechaeva died. Rucriminal.info has already shared the details of the former CEO of the country's most popular club, Larisa Nechaeva's murder.
But Larisa Gennadievna's son, Andrey, has only now revealed the important details of the high-profile crime. And a sports journalist, who writes about football, Alexei Matveev, prepared this material especially for the Cheka-OGPU and Rucriminal.info.
“SYSTEM ON SELF-SCORE”
“About a year and a half after the tragedy, at the end of 1998, I received a call from Petrovka,” Andrei remembers. – And they offered … to pay a certain amount for a possible operation to catch the perpetrators of the murder. They seemed to be in the hands of people from Chechnya, who could pass off the criminals for a certain bribe. That is, a ransom was required. I and my family members, of course, did not have such an amount, and could not have. Income is very modest. After the refusal to pay, the “benefactors” from Petrovka did not call again.
It turns out that representatives of the domestic law enforcement system have switched and, apparently, for a long time to the principles of “self-sufficiency”. They seem to suggest that if the relatives and friends of the deceased can pay for the operation to search for and deliver the “offenders” of their relative, then they can come to our, cop’s offices. With a certain amount.
Otherwise, there is nothing to count on. Law enforcement officers will not lift a finger unless they are paid. I would like to believe that this does not apply to all representatives of law enforcement agencies. But apparently most of them. Judging by the level of “solved” serious crimes.
Larisa Nechaeva |
Larisa Nechaeva, according to her eldest son, almost did not involve her close people in her affairs, apparently so that they could sleep peacefully. However, in her masculine manner of speaking, it slipped that she got involved in a very difficult and unpleasant enterprise.
– It showed through in her stories, – Andrey admits. – In particular, it was very difficult for her to communicate with the then vice-president of the club, Grigory Esaulenko. Was there a premonition of trouble? The very air seemed to be saturated with it. Since around March 1996, the situation in Spartak became especially tense. I visibly felt it. Especially when my mother herself, her brother and my uncle Gennady Sorokin, who was her personal driver, started talking about professional bodyguards. Like, it’s time to start them, away from sin. But somehow everyone put off the much-needed measure. Mom, I saw, she simply did not believe in such a nightmarish and close denouement.
Larisa Gennadievna was an imperious, moderately proud, purposeful woman. Advice to go aside, look around, at some moments “keep your head down” did not take. According to the conversations of people from her inner circle, she became excited. Nechaeva turned out to be a very successful business woman. And she was not going to quit her job, even being on the verge of life and death.
Andrey says that his mother used to have good relations with Oleg Ivanovich until the end. He believed Romantsev did not have much power at Spartak and other people made decisions for him. His mother was involved in making club deals. The head coach and president only signed documents prepared by the general director. Andrey used to admire Romantsev, but became disappointed when he found out about his mother's involvement. He thanks his mother for introducing him to the team's inner life and allowing him to attend matches.
The atmosphere at Spartak is described as hypocritical and insincere by Andrey. He started avoiding many people after his mother's death. Oleg Ivanovich, who paid for Andrey's studies, never contacted him after her death. Andrey is grateful for the financial support but regrets not talking to Romantsev sooner.
Yuri Zavarzin, an associate of Grigory Yesaulenko, offered a job in the club to the eldest son of the murdered woman. Being aware of the internal connections in the club, Andrey refused the offer, fearing for his safety.
Andrei declined the job offer from the club, knowing that his presence wouldn't change the work style or communication among the club's employees.
Andrey considered revisiting the decision to stay away from the matter but doubted the effectiveness of an individual investigation. He lacks the resources and connections in law enforcement. He hopes for intervention from higher authorities to push for a thorough investigation.
Andrei and his relatives have somewhat coped with the loss of their loved one over the years but are determined not to accept the impunity of the criminals. He does not want to nurture feelings of revenge and doubts the possibility of finding the mastermind and the killers of his mother and uncle.
Andrei and his family feel that the pain of losing their loved one has eased somewhat over the years. However, Andrei is resolute in pursuing justice for the killers despite not wanting to harbor feelings of revenge. He doubts the likelihood of identifying the mastermind and the shooters who attacked his mother and uncle.
Too much time has passed. It seemed that the obvious moments of “getting” the villains were missed. And every day, in his words, works against the triumph of justice.
According to Andrey, the name and surname of the customer were announced by the investigators, as well as by his own uncle. Everything points to Mr. Esaulenko. By the way, Grigory Vasilievich earlier, during the life of Larisa Gennadievna, for some reason diligently avoided communication with her son. Then Andrei did not attach any importance to the somewhat strange behavior of the Spartak boss.

“I thought that people like Esaulenko, who own a solid fortune, are closed, unsociable,” recalls Nechaeva’s son. – Later, I began to evaluate the processes that took place in the team I once loved in a different way. Now a lot of things seem ominous.
Relations with his uncle, Gennady Sorokin, the brother of Larisa Gennadievna, Andrei, of course, supports. Gennady Gennadievich survived during the massacre in the village of Taratino, but remained disabled. And some time after the tragedy, he completely left the capital, returning to his small homeland, to Alushta.
