The film “Navalny” won the British BAFTA award as the best documentary
The British Academy of Film and Television Arts handed out their awards on the evening of February 19th. The ceremony was broadcast live on British television, as well as to the whole world via an Internet application.
The best film and at the same time the best film in a foreign language academics proclaimed “All Quiet on the Western Front.” The director of the same picture, Edward Berger, was recognized as the best in his nomination. The film also received prizes for the best adapted screenplay, musical score, sound, cinematography.
The film was named best documentaryNavalnouch*” by Daniel Roer about the poisoning of a politician and false phone calls to potential perpetrators. The tape, released in the world on January 25, 2022, also claims to be an Oscar, three weeks left before the award ceremony.
The Banshee of Inisherina, a black tragicomedy by Irish director and screenwriter Martin McDonagh, won Best British Picture, and was also awarded Best Original Screenplay. The academicians chose Pinocchio Guillermo Del Toro as the best animated film. For special effects, the prize was awarded to the second “Avatar: the path of water.”
Elvis collected several prizes – for casting, costume and makeup, costume design. Austin Butler, the title character, was named best actor. The prize for best actress was awarded to Cate Blanchett in the film “Tar” about a woman conductor: for the sake of this tape, the actress restored her piano skills, spoke German and learned to conduct an orchestra.
Noted at the ceremony and the tape – the favorite of the upcoming “Oscar” – “Everything is everywhere and at once.” True, the prize that she was given was only for the “best editing”. Well, scolded by the world press, “Babylon” by Damien Chazelle (“La La Land”) was awarded for the best work of art director.
