The Communist Party reacted to the abolition of the sentence to the deputy in the case of child molestation

The Communist Party of the Russian Federation welcomes the annulment of the sentence for molesting a child sentenced to 13 years in the Legislative Assembly of Primorye Artyom Samsonov, spokesman for the party Alexander Yushchenko said in an interview with the media. According to him, the case against the party member was fabricated.

“The party does everything to the maximum [возможное]. The case that was against Samsonov was absolutely fabricated. Even on certain little things it is absolutely far-fetched. All lawyers and all common sense talk about it. We insist on a review and will strive to ensure that there is a completely acquittal. The facts that are presented do not withstand any logical criticism. We applaud the work of our lawyers who ensured that he was placed under house arrest,” he said.

The Primorsky Regional Court overturned the sentence against Artem Samsonov. His preventive measure was changed, and now he is under house arrest. The case has been sent for retrial.

The verdict was handed down in September 2022. Samsonov was found guilty under Article 132 (“Other acts of a sexual nature using the helpless state of the victim, committed against a person under the age of 14”) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

According to investigators, a deputy on the territory of a recreation center in Vladivostok corrupted an 11-year-old child, showing him a dildo and talking about the purpose of this item. It was about the events of two years ago.

Artem Samsonov was detained in November 2021 on suspicion of pedophilia. The defendant did not admit his guilt, as a sign of disagreement with the investigative actions, he went on a hunger strike. Later, his defense asked to open a criminal case for giving false evidence against Samsonov, but this requirement was not satisfied.
