Russia declares commitment to New START goals

Russia has been irreproachably committed to the goals of the Strategic Offensive Arms Treaty (START) throughout the years, unlike Washington.

This was stated by the Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov, writes TASS.

The diplomat stressed that Moscow intends to continue to comply with the START restrictions. According to him, the responsibility for the escalation of the situation around START lies entirely with Washington.

Earlier, The Wall Street Journal reported that the US State Department’s report to Congress said that Russia’s blocking of inspections was a violation of START. Vice Speaker of the Federation Council of Russia Konstantin Kosachev called this statement unfair. At the same time, he said that he did not see anything critical in the accusations against the backdrop of what is happening in relations between the United States and Russia.
