Politician Dmitry Gudkov, who lives abroad, was banned from leaving Russia
Former State Duma deputy Dmitry Gudkov informedthat he received a notice of a ban on leaving Russia. The politician left the country in June last year amid a criminal case.
“Okay, time to confess. I am now banned. <…> I can’t say that, looking at the Russian border from the other side, I worry about this, ”Gudkov wrote.
The oppositionist linked the ban with a lawsuit filed by a member of the Public Chamber, Ilya Remeslo. In 2019, Remeslo demanded to recover 500,000 rubles from Gudkov because the politician called his statements about the presence of “dead souls” in signature lists slanderous.
“Then I could not restrain myself and said a couple of gentle words about necrophilia. The craft went to court to prove that it was not a necrophile. And it proved. I paid him money for this, but the exit was closed to me anyway. More recently, and for the second, which is typical, once, ”the politician explained.
Leaving Russia the day before banned Deputy of the Moscow City Duma Sergei Mitrokhin. The press service of Yabloko reported that the measures were taken due to the fact that the politician allegedly did not pay the fines imposed by the court for participating in the rallies on January 27 and March 17.
Gudkov left Russia after a criminal case was opened against him and his aunt Irina Yermilova for causing damage to the Moscow property department (clause “b” part 2 of article 165 of the Criminal Code). We are talking about non-payment of a debt of about 1 million rubles under a lease agreement for non-residential premises in 2015–2017.
