Officials want to spend 57 million on a shelter for stray dogs in Taganrog

Entertaining mathematics became known at a meeting of the City Duma commission on housing and communal services and transport. It turned out that the kennel is planned to be built in two stages – at the first stage, a building, a veterinarian’s office, utility and utility rooms, changing rooms and showers for staff, communications and enclosures for 150 dogs will be erected. The issue price is 23 million rubles. At the second stage, which will cost 34 million rubles, local figures promise to build storage facilities and additional enclosures for 200 dogs. In addition, the maintenance of one dog will cost 260 rubles per day, which is at least 33 million rubles a year.

The multimillion-dollar initiative of officials caused a heated discussion in social networks, the majority of residents, to put it mildly, doubt the expediency of “development” (someone even used the term “cut”) such significant funds for the nursery, while people recognize the problem of stray animals, bewilderment causes sum. Moreover, at the very beginning of the year, the closure of a social shelter for the homeless was announced.
