Officially: Germany will provide Ukraine with 14 Leopard 2 tanks
This was stated by Chancellor Olaf Scholz at a meeting in the Cabinet of Ministers. According to him, Germany will continue to follow “the well-known line of support for Ukraine to the best of its ability,” and in addition to providing Leopard 2, it will allow third countries to re-export tanks to Ukraine.
The authorities call the dispatch of 14 tanks the first step in military assistance to Ukraine. The country will also provide the Ukrainian Armed Forces with ammunition and technical support for tanks.
