Office of the President of Ukraine reported on rocket attacks

Air raids continue to operate throughout Ukraine, air defense and aviation repel missile attacks, Andriy Yermak, head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, said on his telegram channel. Explosions are heard in Kyiv, Odessa, Dnipro, Kharkiv, Lviv and Vinnitsa regions, Strana.ua and UNIAN report.

As Strana.ua writes, after the explosions, most of the districts of Kharkiv were de-energized, the metro stopped in the city. Emergency blackouts also operate in other cities, including Kyiv and Kherson. As the head of the Kharkiv OVA Oleg Sinegubov later said, after the “arrivals” in the region, two critical infrastructure facilities were damaged.

Deputy Head of the Office of the President Kyrylo Tymoshenko reported on the explosion in the Dnieper, in particular, on the damage to a residential building. In turn, the head of the Lviv OVA, Maxim Kazytsky, spoke about the damage to another critical infrastructure facility in the region.

The Odessa administration confirmed to UNIAN the work of air defense over the Odessa region. The work of air defense was also reported in the Kyiv regional administration. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko urged people to stay in hiding. “New Edition” writes about the work of air defense in Lutsk and the sounds of explosions in the Khmelnytsky region.

After the start of the Russian special operation in Ukraine, air raid alerts are regularly announced in Ukrainian cities. Also, from October 10, Moscow began to strike at military command and energy facilities in Ukraine. Russian President Vladimir Putin explained this as a response to the actions of Kyiv, including the terrorist attack on the Crimean bridge, which he blamed on the Ukrainian special services. Kyiv denies any involvement.

In connection with the strikes, the authorities of the Ukrainian regions have repeatedly reported problems with heat, water and electricity supply. Back in mid-December, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the destruction of half of the country’s energy infrastructure. Prime Minister Denys Shmygal warned that Ukraine would live in conditions of electricity shortage all winter.

Due to massive shelling, the Ukrainian authorities suspended the export of electricity, banned the export of firewood, and imposed restrictions on the use of electricity throughout the country.
