Medvedev called Russia’s nuclear potential a deterrent for the West
Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev called Russia’s nuclear potential a deterrent for the West.
He expressed this opinion in an article for the National Defense magazine.
“The most powerful deterrent for especially hotheads with NATO-style shoulder straps is the nuclear potential that Russia possesses,” Medvedev said and clarified that Russia has “enough weapons, including modern and high-precision ones.”
The Deputy Chairman of the Security Council also drew attention to the fact that Western countries are in no hurry to enter into a military confrontation with Russia, but at the same time they are waging a hybrid war against it: they send mercenaries to the front, train the Ukrainian military. In addition, according to him, Europe and the United States are trying to wage a cyber war against Russia, “enlisting the support of IT giants.” “Large technology corporations have a significant benefit from the blockade of Russia, expanding the circle of customers and their sphere of influence,” he added.
Also in an article for the National Defense magazine, Medvedev said that Russia had “well studied enemy” weapons and decided to expand the production of its own. As the politician noted, domestic design bureaus “dismantled the captured weapons by screw” and “learned a lot of useful things for themselves.”
