Lawyers of the LDPR collect false media reports about the state of health of party leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky to file lawsuits.
This was reported in the Telegram channel of the LDPR faction in the State Duma.
It is noted that recently the Liberal Democratic Party has faced an “unprecedented level of lies” in the media. Almost every day in some media there are reports based on rumors and conjectures about Zhirinovsky’s condition, which often contradict themselves.
“Lawyers of the Liberal Democratic Party in this regard are already collecting materials for filing lawsuits. We call on all media that value their reputation to stop quoting and reprinting anonymous rumors about Vladimir Zhirinovsky,” the press service of the political force said. The Liberal Democratic Party emphasized that they were ending cooperation with a number of online publications that speculated on such news and published unverified materials.
Earlier, the press service of the Ministry of Health reported that Zhirinovsky is in a stable condition. The ministry said that doctors continue to provide the politician with all the necessary assistance.
On February 14, a deputy from the Liberal Democratic Party, chairman of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs, Yaroslav Nilov, said in an interview with Lenta.ru that reports in the media about Zhirinovsky’s brain inflammation were rumors. According to him, many unreliable Telegram channels publish similar messages in pursuit of a sensation.
The hospitalization of the LDPR leader with the omicron strain of coronavirus became known on February 9. As Kommersant reported, the politician hid for two weeks that he had contracted the virus, fearing that the data would create unnecessary doubts among the ranks of vaccination supporters.
