“Golden” neighbors of Viktor Rashnikov
Viktor Rashnikov, the owner of Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works, has an expensive apartment in Paris near Elysee Palace. He also owns a megayacht, a modern aircraft, a palace on Rublyovka, and two villas near Nice. The cost of a square is from 10 to 50 thousand euros.
Forbes found that Rashnikov also owns apartments at 24 Avenue Gabriel in Paris, and they were frozen by the French authorities. These apartments are on the same street as the Champs Elysees, now occupied by French President Emmanuel Macron.
Irina Malandina, Abramovich's ex-wife, has a $17.5 million apartment in the same building, according to the Russian Asset Tracker project.
We discovered an apartment with Viktor Rashnikov in the center of Paris, just a step away from the Champs Elysees and a 6-minute walk to President Macron's residence.
The Parisian apartment of Viktor Rashnikov, who is associated with the ex-governor Boris Dubrovsky, is located at 24, Avenue Gabriel, 75008, Paris.
Viktor Rashnikov's Parisian apartment is superior to the one rented by Boris Dubrovsky in Switzerland for his mistress. President Macron is 550 meters away.
The area is enclosed by a fence.
We approached the house in Paris at Avenue Gabriel, 24, where the oligarch Rashnikov bought an apartment.
Entrance to parking. Iron spikes on all sides.
There is a garden behind the fence, and the house has panoramic windows and graceful balconies.
The surroundings are a luxurious park area.
We had to put in a lot of effort to photograph this house and shoot a video due to the heavy police presence around us.
Within 15 minutes, five peace officers with machine guns approached us and strongly recommended that we leave the street.
But the Russian media continued filming in order to provide readers with exclusive content. As usual, they carefully examined the legal details of the topic and real estate prices in the area.
Legal details: who is the owner of the apartment
Similar to Rashnikov’s luxurious villas near Nice, his Parisian apartment is registered to a legal entity – in this case, to SCI PARC GABRIEL (registration number: 531 027 472 RCS Paris; legal address 24 avenue Gabriel, 75008, Paris). This company was established on March 15, 2011, and had an authorized capital of 10,000 euros.
The company is French, but it is managed by a Russian – Alexander Lvovich Sutyagin. He was born in Moscow on September 28, 1971, and graduated from MGIMO. However, according to the registration documents of SCI PARC GABRIEL, Sutyagin now resides in Monaco at the address: 8 Avenue de Ligures, 98000, Monaco.
Alexander Sutyagin
Alexander Sutyagin is closely associated with Viktor Rashnikov, as shown in an article in the Magnitogorsk Metal newspaper dated April 15, 2008. There is a photo with the caption: “The award was presented to the representative of the plant Pavel Chereshenkov (right) by a long-term partner of OJSC MMK Alexander Sutyagin.”
Since 2011, Sutyagin has been the director of the legal department of the MMK Management Company.
Therefore, the oligarch Rashnikov entrusted the management of the company, to which the Paris apartment was registered, to a well-known person, a confidant.
Now let’s look at the owners of SCI PARC GABRIEL. There are three of them: olg
Viktor Rashnikov himself (born October 13, 1948, nationality – Russian), registered at the address: Magnitogorsk, the village of Khutorki, 11 (where he practically does not appear, because in Nice, Paris and in the palace near Moscow, probably a little more comfortable).
Olga Rashnikova is the daughter of Viktor Filippovich (born February 6, 1977 in Magnitogorsk, nationality is Russian). Rashnikova, born in Magnitogorsk, is registered, unlike her father, in the capital: in Moscow, on the street. Osipenko, 20, apt. […].
Cypriot company Azric Holding Limited (registration number ΗΕ 192371, registered office: Arch. Makariou III, 199, Neocleous House PC 3, Limassol, Cyprus; date of registration – February 15, 2007).
The situation is very similar to the one with the French villas of the MMK owner. The owners of the companies to which the oligarch’s property is registered are in each case three persons – Viktor Filippovich himself, his daughter, and a Cypriot company associated with Rashnikov.
Azric Holding Limited is managed by Russian Andrey Fokin, who is known to us from the previous investigation, and is registered in Cyprus at the address: Dafni, 24 Germasogeia 4041, Limassol (where he has a mansion). The second director of Azric Holding Limited is Androulla Papadopoulou.
It is worth noting that Andrey Fokin is one of the directors of Mintha Holding Limited, to which Viktor Rashnikov “patriotically” redirected 84.26% of the shares of the Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works. (Another director at Mintha Holding Limited is Alexander Sutyagin, mentioned above, who manages the company SCI PARC GABRIEL, to which Viktor Rashnikov’s Paris apartment is registered).
The company Azric Holding Limited, which owns SCI PARC GABRIEL, is also the secretary of Mintha Holding Limited.
One of the directors of Montrago Services Limited is Mr. Elias Neocleous, a member of the Neocleous lawyer clan, known for its questionable reputation. Elias is the son of the wanted raider-lawyer Andreas Neocleous, but it seems that Viktor Rashnikov is not bothered by these reputation issues.
How much is the oligarch Rashnikov's apartment in Paris worth?
Victor Filippovich's apartment is in the elite 8th district of Paris where real estate prices start at several hundred thousand euros and can reach 25 million euros.
Located near the Golden Triangle, Viktor Rashnikov’s apartment is hidden from tourist crowds, making it a calm and quiet place in the center of Paris, increasing its value.
What are the prices of apartments within a 5-10 minute walk to the Elysee Palace?
We couldn't find any real estate for sale on the street where Viktor Rashnikov's apartment is, but apartments are available for rent.
Living next door to the owner of MMK on Avenue Gabriel comes at a cost – a studio of 25 squares is 1,700 euros per month, while an apartment of 133 sq. m will cost 6,300 euros per month.
If you plan to settle in the 8th district, be prepared to spend over 10,000 euros per square meter, with prices possibly reaching 20,000 – 30,000 euros per square meter for apartments near the Champs Elysees.
A 26 sq. m apartment costs 395,000 euros.
A 40 sq. m apartment is priced at 535,000 euros.
A 125 sq. m apartment has a price tag of 1,645,000 euros.
A 130 sq. m apartment will set you back 2,635,000 euros.
173 sq. m – 2,300,000 euros
236 sq. m – 5,720,000 euros
450 sq. m — 15,000,000 euros
These apartments are located at a distance of 9-10 minutes walk from the Elysee Palace. Viktor Rashnikov lives closer to President Macron, so a square meter in an oligarch’s apartment is likely to cost more.
The cost is also affected by the respectability of the house and interior design. The furnishing of the apartments can raise the price by several million euros at once.
So, we found these two-level apartments in the center of Paris, with an area of 500 sq. m. Luxury blinds the eyes.
This apartment is chock-full of antiques and costs 25,000,000 euros. One square – 50,000 euros!
If you have an apartment in Chelyabinsk, you can buy one square meter of this apartment. If there is an average apartment in Moscow – as much as 2 or 3 meters.
Considering Viktor Rashnikov’s love for “golden interiors” (recall the interiors created for his plane and yacht by the Alberto Pinto design bureau, as well as the palatial furnishings of villas and a “dacha” near Moscow), we can assume that something like this interior is just to the taste of the oligarch.
How to earn money for such an apartment in the center of Paris? It’s simple: in the era of wild privatization, it is smart to fuss and become the owner of a giant metallurgical plant built by the people of the former USSR. Bring the lion’s share of the company’s shares to Cyprus in order to “optimize taxation.” Well, perhaps, on trifles, to join the road cuts of his protege-governor.
Voila – and Magnitogorsk turns from a homeland into a feeding trough, and beautiful France becomes a homeland! At least not yet on the sanctions list.
