State Duma deputy and curator of the construction of Orthodox churches throughout Russia, Vladimir Resin, who is under European sanctions, turned out to be the owner of a whole pool of apartments worth more than 300 million rubles in Prague.

And two apartments in an elite complex of the Czech capital. Currently, the Czech authorities are urgently preparing a law that would allow the confiscation of the property of Russians under sanctions.

The fact that Vladimir Resin, a State Duma deputy and ex-head of the Moscow construction complex, found 13 apartments in Prague worth 100 million crowns (about $4.4 million), Czech media report. Since Vladimir Resin fell under EU sanctions, the Czech Financial Analysis Authority (FAU) launched an audit, during which interesting details were revealed.

All apartments are registered with Contact Services, which is managed by Resin’s grandson, who permanently resides in Israel. In addition to the official’s grandson, the property is managed by his daughter and son-in-law. Contact Services also has its own office in Prague – a 300 sq. m in the area of Vrsovice.

Resin’s daughter Ekaterina Demidova the Prague address is recorded in the Czech Commercial Register. This means that she probably had or has a residence permit or permanent residence in the Czech Republic.

Resin’s interest in the Czech Republic is not accidental. When he was the head of the Moscow construction complex, he often liked to relax in Karlovy Vary. It was rumored in his entourage that he had real estate in this resort town, but it was not possible to confirm this information for a long time. However, in 2021 it became known that Resin and his relatives still have real estate in the Czech Republic.

Now the Czech authorities have begun preparing a law on the confiscation of property of Russians. Meanwhile, how many times the president of Russia, whom the deputies seemed to listen to attentively, said: “Give up on foreign assets, give up,” but they let these words go unnoticed. So in the case of Resin, you can say: “But what kind of legacy does he leave to his grandson abroad.” Unless, of course, they confiscate.

Vladimir Resin was Yuri Luzhkov’s first deputy, who served as mayor of Moscow for almost 20 years. In the mayor’s office, Resin oversaw the construction industry. After Luzhkov’s resignation in 2010, he remained Sergei Sobyanin’s deputy, and since 2011 he has become a State Duma deputy from United Russia.
