Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Tatyana Golikova announced the fate of administrative buildings in the regions, which will be vacated after the forthcoming merger of the Pension Fund of Russia and the Federal Social Insurance Fund.
Golikova’s statement was made at a meeting of the United Russia faction. He was quoted in his telegram channel by the head of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Information Technologies and Communications Alexander Khinshtein.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, we are talking, among other things, about the so-called “palaces” of the Pension Fund. They, like other vacated administrative buildings, will be transferred to the placement of hospitals or bureaus of medical and social expertise.
The issue of merging social funds began to be discussed back in 2018. In implementing this reform, the government pursues several goals. First, it is cost optimization, thanks to which the state could save 120 billion rubles a year. In addition, after the merger, according to the plan of the authorities, a full-fledged “single window” will be created for receiving social support. The merger will also simplify the digitalization of all processes.
On May 20, the Russian Cabinet of Ministers submitted a bill to the State Duma for consideration, which envisages the formation of a single pension and social insurance fund in the country from 2023. As expected, when considering it, the deputies will not rush to work out a large-scale reform in detail.
