State Duma deputy from United Russia Adam Delimkhanov, after promising to “cut off the heads” of the family members of the ex-judge Saidi Yangulbaev, did not come to the parliament session. As it became known to Znak.com, Delimkhanov fell ill and is now on sick leave.
It is curious that during the meeting of the Duma, a certain man sat in the place of Adam Delimkhanov every now and then. Whether he voted for United Russia or not is still unknown; the results of the deputies’ vote for February 15 have not yet been published.
The absence of Adam Delimkhanov in the State Duma Znak.com was confirmed by his press secretary Tatyana Lazina: “Yes, he was not. [Он] on a sick leave”. Lazina did not specify what exactly Delimkhanov was sick with.
Recall, on February 1, State Duma deputy from Chechnya Adam Delimkhanov vowed to cut off the heads of members of the family of judge Saydi Yangulbaev, whose wife was forcibly taken from Nizhny Novgorod to Chechnya by Chechen security forces, allegedly to testify in a criminal case of fraud. Delimkhanov also threatened those who would dare to translate his words from Chechen into Russian.
Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov told reporters that “it is not the function of the Kremlin to give assessments to deputies.” The press service of United Russia and the Ethics Commission of United Russia have not yet commented on Delimkhanov’s statements.
On February 9, Russian human rights activists sent an appeal to Valentina Tereshkova, chairman of the commission on parliamentary ethics of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, regarding Adam Delimkhanov’s statement.
However, the Commission on Deputy Ethics has never met since the election of the Duma of the VIII convocation.
