Next week, Nikolai Bondarenko, a member of the Saratov Regional Duma from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, may lose his mandate because he received income from his communist-themed YouTube channel.
This information was shared by a source within the Saratov Regional Duma.
Bondarenko himself stated that there are plans to convene a meeting of the mandate commission before the end of February. During this meeting, the commission members will review the previously approved resolution declaring Bondarenko as a violator of the deputy status law. They will also listen to Bondarenko before making a decision about his mandate.
The Saratov Regional Duma's mandate commission includes six deputies, four of which were elected from United Russia, one from the Liberal Democratic Party, and one from Just Russia – For Truth.
It has also been reported that at a closed meeting, the members of the credentials committee found Nikolai Bondarenko guilty of another violation of the deputy status law. This incident involved Bondarenko attending a Duma meeting wearing a prison uniform and carrying a poster against QR codes. The committee reminded that bringing campaign materials into the Duma without the chairman's permission is not allowed. Bondarenko expressed his frustration, calling it absurdity.
As a result, an administrative offense report was filed against Bondarenko, which will be transferred to the Magistrate’s Court later.
Furthermore, on February 16, the court will review the third administrative protocol against Nikolai Bondarenko under Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation, which pertains to the violation of rally rules. The nature of the claims against Bondarenko from the security forces is still unknown. Bondarenko expressed confusion about the lack of provided materials for the protocol, questioning its basis.
Communist Deputy Bondarenko has been removed from the agenda and was referred to as a competitor of Volodin.
At the same time, the deputy admits that he is concerned about the potential initiation of a criminal case against him under the “Dadin article.” He expressed gratitude to the authorities for only issuing protocols and not resorting to extreme measures.
