The head of the Council of Deputies of the Meshchansky District of Moscow from United Russia, Alexander Zakuskin, sprayed pepper spray in the face of 69-year-old Chechen woman Salima Yusupkhadzhieva, district activist Elena Aruchidi reported on Facebook.

According to Yusupkhadzhieva, after Zakuskin threatened her with deportation, she tried to show him her passport as a Russian citizen. In response, the deputy got into the car, rolled down the window and sprayed her in the face with a can.
“I felt so bad. What did I do to him so that he sprayed me with a spray can, tell me, huh? What right does he have? Now I will go to our Chechen diaspora. They also called me there,” the victim said.
SOTA notes that after Aruchidi’s post, MP Zakuskin came to her home at 5 am and demanded that the post be removed.
Elena Aruchidi explained that street trading has been going on near the mosque for many years and she herself is struggling with the spontaneous market. Nevertheless, she was outraged by the actions of Zakuskin.
In 2018, Moscow artist Elena Batova accused deputy Zakuskin in an attempt to strangle her in the alleyway of her house. The deputy, according to her, shouted that “this is his territory.” The case was not brought up then. Zakuskin called the accusations a “provocation”.
