A Russian MP who recorded greetings from Mexico posted a video “from the front line”
The deputy of the Kursk Regional Duma Maxim Vasiliev, who was at the center of the scandal after the publication of a video greeting from Mexico, posted a video “from the front line” of a special military operation (SVO).
He posted the footage on his VKontakte page.
“Well, I got to the front line, after this video, a number of events and rethinking of certain moments have already occurred ….. But more on that later!!!” — wrote the deputy.
The scandal surrounding the Kursk deputy began to gain momentum in December 2022. Then a video was published on the network, in which Vasiliev drinks cocktails on the beach with the words: “A lot of money. Lots of good vibes. Happy New Year!” He blamed the Ukrainian for the appearance of the video on the network.
Vasilyev apologized for his act after he was criticized by Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council, Secretary of the General Council of the United Russia Party Andrei Turchak and Governor of the region Roman Starovoit. He was given a warning in the regional council. Subsequently, the governor of the Kursk region announced that Maxim Vasilyev had resigned as deputy chairman of the Standing Committee of the Kursk Regional Duma on Budget, Taxes and Economic Development.
