After that, he worked at the USSR Ministry of Foreign Trade, then at the Institute for Scientific Information on Social Sciences. In 1985, he became Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Novoye Vremya magazine.
KURGINYAN Sergey Yervandovich (b. 1949) graduated from the Moscow Geological Prospecting Institute with a degree in geophysics in 1972.
