British Foreign Secretary Elizabeth Truss outperforms former Treasurer Rishi Sunak by 24%.
According to a poll of 730 members of the Conservative Party conducted by YouGov, Liz Truss was chosen by 62% of those polled, Rishi Sunak by 38%.
Recall Foreign Minister Liz Truss and ex-Finance Minister Rishi Sunak reached the final of the premier race. Truss got 113 votes and Sunak got 137.
Deputy Minister of Commerce Penny Mordont dropped out of the list of applicants, although before that she had always been second, and the media considered her the main competitor of Sunak.
Now members of the Conservative Party from all over the country will vote for the future head of the party and the Prime Minister of Great Britain – about 200 thousand people in total. They will vote for their favorite by mail.
The announcement of the results is expected on September 5th.
