More than 200 tons of hazardous pesticides were removed from a bankrupt plant in the Krasnoyarsk Territory
The contractor has completed the disposal of waste from the Mining and Chemical Combine in Zheleznogorsk. PJSC Khimprom removed 232 tons of poisonous chlorosilane from the territory of the bankrupt enterprise, the volume of chemicals amounted to 1600 cubic meters.
The Minister of Ecology of the Territory, Pavel Borzykh, said that the threat of an ecological disaster in Zheleznogorsk had been eliminated. Containers with dangerous goods were sent to the Chuvash city of Novocheboksary. Khimprom undertook to use chemicals in the technological processes of its enterprise.
Recall that the plant went bankrupt in 2017. In the summer of 2020, containers with dangerous chemicals were found on the territory of the enterprise. It was reported that the tanks had not been serviced for many years and were in disrepair. Because of the danger, even the possible evacuation of nearby settlements was discussed. In December 2021, one of the containers leaked.
Now specialists must dismantle the empty tanks.
