Rishi Sunak first announced his intention to run for the post of Prime Minister of Great Britain
Former Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak became the first leader of the Conservative Party to announce his intention to run for the post of British Prime Minister.
He wrote about this on his Twitter.
“I am nominating myself for the next leader of the Conservative Party and your Prime Minister. Let’s restore confidence, rebuild the economy and reunite the country,” the post reads.
Sunak, 42, is an ethnic Hindu from Punjab and second-generation British. He graduated from the University of Oxford where he studied philosophy, politics and economics, and received an MBA from Stanford University. Founded a $1 billion global investment company focused on supporting small businesses in the UK. He was one of the first ministers to demand the resignation of Boris Johnson.
