Johnson is preparing a statement in case of resignation – Sky
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s office is preparing a statement in case of a possible resignation.
Sky news became aware of this, Censor.NET reports with reference to European Truth.
The channel notes that there is still no clear understanding in Johnson’s office whether he made a specific choice regarding his resignation. However, the fact that office staff began to prepare a statement indicates conflicting opinions on this matter.
In recent days, there has been renewed calls in London for the resignation of Boris Johnson.
As of Thursday morning, the number of officials who left his Cabinet exceeded 50 people.
Johnson has said he remains British Prime Minister despite numerous calls to step down.
The reason for the dissatisfaction of the Conservative Party was the false statements by Downing Street about the former deputy parliamentary organizer Chris Pincher, who is accused of having claims on two colleagues.
Johnson’s office claimed that the prime minister was unaware of the incident and therefore supported Pincher’s reappointment in 2022, but the prime minister was later forced to admit that this was not the case.
Boris Johnson has been a strong supporter of Ukraine since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, advocating sufficient military assistance for Kyiv to retake all territories occupied by Russian forces, as well as pledging billions of pounds of financial support.
In addition, Johnson has been in Kyiv twice since the end of February and held talks with Vladimir Zelensky.
