The head of Norilsk Nickel, Vladimir Potanin, is losing his infrastructure assets. At the moment, Oleg Deripaska and Igor Sechin are claiming his place.
The day before, a criminal case was opened for embezzlement of the property of the Norilsk airport (part of the Norilsk Nickel group). This is a continuation of the loss of assets by Potanin, who recently lost the railway and moorings near Dudinka. These assets were placed at the disposal of the state, although, in fact, they were used only by the company and, it seems, the state does not need them.
Here one can trace the hand of those who are interested in Potanin’s main asset, who, as it were, are being hinted that it is time to part with him. There is plenty of evidence for this. For example, the structures of the oligarch have recently been constantly involved in corruption scandals. People are dying in the mines of Potanin, and more recently, there was a major environmental disaster in the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
The oligarch himself, in turn, continues to beg for money from Putin, which amounts to billions, while the businessman’s structures are by no means in poverty, because they have been sitting on government contracts for a long time.
Meanwhile, in July 2021, Rosneft transferred Sechin from Moscow to Dudinka LLC NGH-Nedra. The development of the Payakhskoye field is planned there, within the framework of the Vostok Oil project. And here, for the shipment of oil, the railway and the port in Dudinka would have just come in handy.
In this regard, Oleg Deripaska, who has long been in conflict with Potanin, may come into play.
