Agrarians from Ecuador reported the impossibility of supplying bananas to Russia due to sanctions. The Wall Street Journal writes about it.
Ecuadorian farmers say they are forced to sell bananas for next to nothing or give them away so they don’t rot. Russia is one of the most important buyers of Ecuadorian bananas. Russia supplies 20% of banana exports. Also, because of the sanctions, the supply of Ecuadorian flowers to Russia was also disrupted.
