Maria Baronova, editor-in-chief of the RT channel spoke against the special operation in Ukraine. According to the journalist, having chosen Russia, she did not choose to “walk in a totalitarian system.”
“Just a week ago, I wrote about ‘NATO collaborators’ and ‘NATO propaganda’, hurled curses at them, talked about betrayal and Russophobia, called names for demshizu, and they all turned out to be absolutely right. Even the demshiza turned out to be right in their predictions, but I was not, ”Baronova wrote in her Telegram channel.
“Russians are fine. And they are bombing Kyiv and Kharkov, as well as bombing Donetsk – some non-Russians, ”added the editor-in-chief.
Before working at RT, Baronova was an assistant to deputy Ilya Ponomarev and curator of the human rights project of the Open Russia movement*. In June 2017, she left the movement. In April of the same year, the Prosecutor General’s Office declared undesirable foreign organizations OR (Otkrytaya Rossia) and Open Russia Civic Movement, Open Russia (public network movement “Open Russia”).
