The government of Ukraine has temporarily suspended the operation of checkpoints across the borders with Russia and Belarus, said Prime Minister Denys Shmihal. Ukrainians who are on the territory of these countries can freely return home.
“Of course, we urge you to return home. Prove that you are on the side of the world,” said Mr. Shmyhal at a briefing (quoted from UNIAN).
Since February 24, Russia has been conducting a military operation in Ukraine on the orders of President Vladimir Putin. Minsk reported that Kyiv closed checkpoints on the border with Belarus on the same day.
