The head of the press service of the Romanian government, Dan Carbunaru, said that the country would close the country’s airspace for Russian airlines. Earlier, the UK, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Poland, Ukraine, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia closed the airspace for Russian airlines. This happened because of the military operation of Russian troops on the territory of Ukraine.
“Romania has begun the procedure for suspending the right to fly over its territory, as well as the right to land on the territory of Romania, for aircraft owned by companies from the Russian Federation. This procedure will be carried out during this day,” Mr. Carbunaru said at a briefing (quoted by RIA Novosti).
