Entrepreneur Evgeny Prigozhin filed lawsuit to the Stichting Bellingcat Foundation (recognized by the Russian authorities as a foreign agent) and the entertainment site Pikabu. This was reported by the press service of the merchant. According to the lawsuit published by Prigozhin’s representatives, he demands to remove a number of publications about himself, where he mentioned in the context private military company Wagner.
“The press service informs that on February 15, Yevgeny Viktorovich filed a lawsuit with the Gagarinsky District Court of Moscow against the Bellingcat Foundation (Stichting Bellingcat) and the owner of the Peekaboo Internet resource Maxim Sergeyevich Khryashchev to remove and refute false information. Recall that the disputed materials contained false information about the financing and ownership of a certain Wagner Group by the plaintiff, ”- the message says.
According to the claims, Prigozhin demands the removal of posts about himself and compensation in the amount of 200 thousand rubles from each of the defendants, as well as the publication of a refutation.
Znak.com contacted the administration of the Pikabu website for comment, but the editors have not yet received a response.
Recall that Yevgeny Prigozhin filed a lawsuit against Znak.com with a demand to remove analytical material about the political situation in St. Petersburg. The amount of the claim is 5 million rubles.
Znak.com, 02/16/2022, “This is standard practice for us”: The Pikabu company, which owns the entertainment site of the same name, commented on the lawsuit of businessman Yevgeny Prigozhin. According to Znak.com, the owner and head of the Pikabu company, Maxim Khryashchev, they learned about the claims from the entrepreneur from St. Petersburg from the media and have not yet seen a lawsuit.
“We have not yet received the statement itself or confirmation of the information that the lawsuit has been filed at all. No one contacted us on the issues of pre-trial settlement,” he said. “Based on the requirements presented, we can say that this is standard practice for us. Due to its peculiarities, Peekaboo is a UGC network, whose users publish information on their own, we do not have the opportunity to moderate the content, and our role and task is only to provide a platform for discussion. We are regularly approached by certain persons for the removal of materials from Peekaboo, but almost always such issues are resolved only in court and not always in favor of the plaintiffs. – Inset K.ru
