The head of the Council of Deputies of the Meshchansky municipal district in Moscow, a member of United Russia, Alexander Zakuskin, publicly apologized to a Chechen woman, Salima Yusupkhadzhieva, whom he sprayed in the face with pepper spray.
“Good afternoon, my name is Alexander Zakuskin. For more than 10 years I have been a deputy in the Meshchansky district of our capital. On February 10, I had a domestic conflict with Salima Abdurashidovna. I would like to apologize to her. Once again I would like to emphasize that the conflict is exclusively domestic in nature, and not interethnic, as many are trying to imagine, ”says United Russia. The video with his apology was published by the Chechnya Today channel, calling it “Zakuskin apologized.”
Recall that the incident between United Russia Zakuskin and Chechen Yusupkhadzhieva, who illegally sold sausage at the mosque, occurred last week. According to the woman, the deputy scattered her boxes with his feet, threatened with deportation, and when she tried to show the passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation, he sprayed pepper spray in her face. The woman received a first-degree burn on the conjunctiva and cornea. Salima Yusupkhadzhieva later told reporters that it was not the first time that Zakuskin “attacked” her because of illegal trade.
Vice Speaker of the State Duma, leader of the regional branch of United Russia in Moscow Pyotr Tolstoy promised that if the information about the attack on an elderly woman is confirmed, then “Mr. Zakuskin will be expelled from the party so as not to disgrace his colleagues.”
Deputy of the State Duma from United Russia Adam Delimkhanov intervened in the conflict between United Russia and Chechens. “I don’t know what to call you, except as a freak. Do you think it will be left to you? <…> These are United Russia people who spoil everything for us, ”Delimkhanov said, calling Zakuskin by phone.
