Inflammatory processes that occur in the human brain as a result of coronavirus may be signs of oncology or dysciculatory encephalopathy.
Neurosurgeon Anton Shitov announced this in an interview with Evening Moscow, commenting on the news that serious inflammatory processes in the brain were found in the leader of the LDPR, State Duma deputy Vladimir Zhirinovsky.
The medic noted that during histological studies, specialists found serious brain disorders in “covid” patients, which were in the nature of viral encephalitis:
– That is, a person with an illness occurs with a viral brain lesion. Serious vascular disorders also join this process. As a result, absolutely all parts of the brain become inflamed. Moreover, a person’s optical-spatial perception is also disturbed. All this is the result of damage to the nervous system.
However, the expert noted that the inflammatory process can also signal more dangerous symptoms:
We know that coronavirus and post-COVID syndrome exacerbate chronic diseases. If a person was at risk for oncological indicators, then the disease can only accelerate the manifestation of the problem. Scientists have proven that COVID-19 causes a brain tumor. Some SARS-Cov-2 molecules (S-protein) bind to cells of the nervous tissue that are involved in the development of the oncological process.
The expert noted that coronavirus is indeed capable of inducing oncogenesis and increasing the risk of developing a dangerous pathology. In addition, inflammation in the brain may also be evidence of the development of encephalopathy, a disease that affects brain tissue due to the aggressive effects of viral particles.
The interlocutor of “VM” also recalled that in some cases, during the course of the disease, processes occur in the brain that are characteristic of Alzheimer’s disease, so a person has a foggy consciousness:
– In the United States, an autopsy of the brain of a person who died from a coronavirus infection made it possible to establish that processes identical to those of Alzheimer’s disease take place in this organ. That is, the coronavirus contributes to the so-called inflammatory aging. In a word, the brain begins to fade.
The expert noted that such a clinical picture disrupts the functioning of a vital organ and there are no guarantees that it will ever be possible to fully restore all brain functions.
