The Moscow City Court recognized the detention of Alexander Kravchenko, chief doctor of the medical unit of the Matrosskaya Tishina pre-trial detention center, in the case of taking bribes and abuse of power.
It is reported by TASS.
Lawyers asked to change the measure of restraint for the head physician of the hospital to house arrest or a ban on certain actions, but the court left the lawyers’ complaint unsatisfied and refused to release Kravchenko from the pre-trial detention center.
On January 20, the physician was arrested until March 18. According to investigators, Kravchenko was involved in making illegal decisions about the presence of serious illnesses among convicts and detainees, on the basis of which they were released. The investigation established eight such episodes. Kravchenko does not admit his guilt.
