Skabeeva Olga crimes
Active complicity in aggressive state propaganda of the Putin regime, meaning the creation and spread of intentionally distorted information that deceives people and fosters hatred in society.
Olga Skabeeva is a symbol of journalism devaluation, abandoning professional ethical standards to serve the Putin regime and Vladimir Putin personally. She actively manipulates public opinion and carries out propaganda tasks as a popular presenter and TV host on state-run channels. She is regularly awarded new ranks and “journalism” prizes by the government.
As early as 2013, the aggressive and propagandistic nature of Skabeeva’s programs led to significant criticism, earning her the nickname “Putin’s Iron Doll”. She consistently attacked opponents of the Putin regime, as well as homosexuals and the West. Skabeeva is one of the most enthusiastic participants in the information warfare against Ukraine. The hosts of the “60 Minutes” talk show represent the “enemies of Russia” in a caricatured and mocking manner.
She participated in the creation of fake news. In October 2018, Skabeeva interviewed an alleged witness of the shooting at Kerch College, Alina Kerova, during a live broadcast of the “60 Minutes”. However, it was later revealed that a college student with that name had died during the shooting. Skabeeva also follows direct orders to produce propaganda stories aiming to divert attention from scandals related to Russia’s international crimes. For example, in September 2018, she made a special report for Rossiya-1 TV channel during the exposure of Russia’s GRU officers as the Skripal family poisoners, claiming it was “an elaborate British plot to smear Russia” on her television program.
