The politician feared that the news that he was infected would create unnecessary doubts in the ranks of supporters of vaccination
LDPR leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky hid for two weeks that he had contracted a coronavirus infection. This was reported by the Kommersant newspaper, citing a source close to the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation. The politician feared that the news that he had contracted the virus would cast unnecessary doubt on the ranks of the proponents of vaccination.
When Zhirinovsky was ill, the LDPR central office told employees that the politician had decided, for the purpose of prevention, to go into home quarantine for a while and work remotely amid the spread of the COVID-19 omicron strain. Only a very narrow circle of people (his personal bodyguards, assistants and chief of staff) knew about Zhirinovsky’s diagnosis.
Recall, on the eve it became known about the hospitalization of the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party Vladimir Zhirinovsky with a serious lung injury caused by a coronavirus infection. According to some reports, the politician is in serious condition, but according to official information, his condition is assessed by doctors as stable.
It is known that Zhirinovsky is in the Central Clinical Hospital in Moscow, subordinated to the administration of the President of the Russian Federation. A number of telegram channels reported that the politician had bilateral pneumonia, 50-75% of his lungs were affected.
It is worth noting that at the end of last year, Zhirinovsky said that he had made the eighth vaccination against coronavirus. The politician noted that he has not yet fallen ill precisely because of such frequent vaccinations. He suggested that if he had given not eight injections, but four, he would most likely have contracted COVID-19.
