The LDPR party may be headed by Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev.
This point of view was expressed by political scientist Maxim Zharov to URA.RU.
“Without Zhirinovsky, the Liberal Democratic Party is of little value. Most likely, in the worst case scenario, the party will be given to one of the “real liberals,” Zharov said in an interview with the publication. According to him, rumors have been circulating for a long time that they want to “make” this party under Dmitry Medvedev.
The political scientist recalled that now the ex-president of Russia is in the Security Council and is one of the leaders of the United Russia party (ER).
The expert believes that EP is probably waiting for a quick rebranding. Perhaps it will be carried out in conjunction with the rebranding of the Liberal Democratic Party.
“There will be the appearance of Medvedev or someone close to him at the head of the LDPR is very likely,” Zharov concluded.
On the eve it became known that the deputy of the State Duma, the chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party Vladimir Zhirinovsky was hospitalized with a coronavirus.
