State Duma deputy from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Valery Rashkin was re-infected with coronavirus, so he did not appear in court, where they are considering a petition from the investigation to extend his preventive measure in the form of a ban on certain actions.

According to the press secretary of the Basmanny Court, Christina Bulygina, the meeting will be held without Rashkin.
Earlier, the deputy said that he wanted to buy a moose and send it to the Lysogorsky district of the Saratov region in exchange for an animal killed during illegal hunting in the same place. According to him, the animal costs from 90 to 800 thousand rubles. Rashkin added that he is considering the option to bring the elk from the United States.
On October 29, 2021, the deputy was detained in the Saratov region while driving a car with the carcass of a dead moose in it. Rashkin later pleaded guilty to killing the animal. Because of the incident, he was deprived of his parliamentary immunity, and a criminal case was opened against him under the article on illegal hunting, he was forbidden to hunt and leave the house in the evening. The measure is valid until February 13, 2022.
