Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov reminded Caucasians that blood feud does not comply with the legislation of the country
The rule of law, not folk traditions, comes first in Russia, said Dmitry Peskov, a spokesman for the Russian president, when asked if blood feuds comply with the country’s laws.
Peskov acknowledged that blood feud is one of the traditions of the Caucasus region, but this tradition does not comply with Russian law, and the rule of law is of paramount importance in the country.
Earlier it was reported that a rally was held in the Chechen village of Goity near Grozny with the participation of relatives of the former judge of the Supreme Court of Chechnya Saidi Yangulbaev, whose family is threatened with reprisal by the authorities of the republic.
According to Kavkaz.Realii, during the rally, the brother of the former judge Said-Amin Yangulbaev promised that he would personally kill his nephew Ibragim Yangulbaev if he overtook him before others (the Chechen authorities consider Ibragim Yangulbaev the administrator of the 1ADAT telegram channel, which is recognized as extremist, criticizing Ramzan Kadyrov and his entourage).
Another brother of the ex-judge Yangulbaev, whose name is not reported, in his speech disowned him and his sons, and also asked for forgiveness from the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, and from the entire Chechen people.
The brother of Saidi Yangulbaev’s wife, Zarema Musaeva (who was taken by force from Nizhny Novgorod to Grozny, where a criminal case was opened against her) also spoke at the rally with curses against the family.
